After a great new record with Divine Horsemen, Julie Christensen also announces a new solo record with music written by Kevin Gordon. Dave Gahan teamed up with Rich Machin and Ian Glover of Soulsavers for a new exciting record of covers. Julie Doiron from Montreal has a new album. Gabriella Cohen, Doug Tuttle and Camp Cope have new singles. Action City is Michael Slawter and Shawn Lynch and they hail from North Carolina.

Every year around this time we look back. This year is again. We begin the new 2019 with a retrospective of best albums in last year. Next week I will present the lest top 12 albums last year. This week we focus on positions 25-12.
Today we check out the new tunes form Ben Vaughn. Kevin Gordon is back with a great new album Tilt And Shine and we also check him out in our Live in Cleveland segment. We introduce Tony Molina, out from California, with his new short masterpiece album Kill The Light. Vasko Atanasoski is back with a new project 21 Vek. Billie and The Kids, lead by Ana KlabuÄar come from Croatia. BBQT is lead by Gabbie Bam Bam out in Austin TX. Fan Fiction come from Cleveland.
Here we are in our first regular show in 2016. We all heard the bad news – David Bowie passed away and we pay respects today. A less covered exit also happened recently – Brett Smiley, an American boy in the late 1970s who tried to become a glam rock star a-la Bowie, but failed. Still, he left a great album which only came out about ten years ago. Carson Van Osten also passed away. He is from Nazz, a legendary rock band formed by Todd Rundgren in the 60s.
Some really exceptional new records today. First, we have Tommy Womack, a new singer songwriter from Nashville. Then Kevin Gordon. This native of Monroe LA, now living also in Nashville, made a new record Gloryland which is a true masterpiece and it got a lot of very nice attention in the music press these days. Canadian rocker Eamon McGrath also has a new record out Young Canadians. The concept is loosely all things Canadian, but it also mentions a ghost of Bob Stinson. I will go out on the limb and say that with this record McGrath establishes himself as the greatest young songwriter of today and finishes the race for the best record in 2012 already. It’s hard for me to imagine that it’s even possible to make a record as good as this one by the end of the calendar year. And then there’s also Jack White with his new album Blunderbuss. Swedish paisley poppers Plastic Pals are also represented today with their new single.
