We’re at the end of this historic crappy year. Still, there’s a good handful of albums that we kept coming back to at the Little Lighthouse. So, let’s take a look back and try to list those albums. Before the complete list of top 30 albums is complete in a week for now, let’s dig into the lower end of that list. For a crappy year, overall, the music was really good.

Join us in another globe-trotting musical ride. We stop in Boston to hear the new hard-rockers, Banshee. Then we go to Brooklyn and LA, and hear the new collaboration between Dion Lunadon and Kate Clover. Also from LA, we introduce Levitation Room. In New York City we have also Sufis, who sing about Cleveland. Doris Melton from Dream Machine has a new solo single. Lithics come from Oregon and we hear them for the first time. Over in Europe, we check out the new tunes from September Girls (Ireland), Entracte Twist (France) and Hedvig Mollestad (Norway). Australians, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever are back with the new LP record.

Blues PillsToday we have the newest album from our beloved Apache, who we adored six years ago when they had their record Radical Sabbatical. The new album is called Alcatraz. Faux Killas from Memphis are also back with the new record, exactly one year from their previous which we pronounced the best record in 2015. We also have some new bands today, Kaviar Special from France, Pink Mexico from New York City, Levitation Room from LA and Zun also from California. The biggest surprise is Koes Barat from Indonesia.
