Trixie WhitleyIn today’s episode we hear new music from Trixie Whitley and Thee Oh Sees. W-X is a new band for Tim Presley of White Fence. Luther Dickinson, from North Mississippi Allstars is back with a solo record. Gary Louris from Jayhawks and Django Haskins from Old Ceremony formed a new duet called Au Pair. We introduce Doug Tuttle of MMOSS. After a short break, we are back with Live in CLE segment of our show. This time we feature a new song from Low Cut Connie.

Pink TilesGreat news today! From this show on, we are underwritten by one of the best record shops in the world, Blue Arrow Records. Visit their location on the historic Waterloo Rd in Collinwood, Cleveland, it’s a great place to be. But let’s go back to the music. We bring a wild variety of tunes today from Chuck Berry and George Jones to wild garage rock of today. We have some new live records on the program, Lucero and White Fence both came up with some recently. White Fence also has a studio record out, which he calls For the Recently Found Innocent. Also a bunch of new names: The Pink Tiles from Melbourne, Faux Killas from Memphis, Dino’s Boys from Atlanta and Connections from Columbus. We finish things off with Waylon Jennings’ son Shooter Jennings who made a tribute to George Jones. He is singing in an effective duet with Katy Cole, who we should keep an eye on. She has a band over in Nashville called Last Daze.

White FenceMost of our show today is filled with interesting new power pop bands. We start off with the Allrightniks from Virgina, then JoDee Purkeypile from Texas. The New Medicants is a duet formed by Norman Blake from Teenage Fanclub and Joe Pernice, one of the Pernice Brothers. Mark Crozer, who used to be in Jesus and Mary Chain, now plays power pop with The Rels over in Charlotte NC. We also introduce Todd May from Columbus OH and Frank Bango from Delaware. Towards the end of the show we depart from the given genre and sample a new record for Timothy Presley aka White Fence.

Evie SandsToday we introduce two new artists at the Little Lighthouse. Both are coming from Atlanta, Georgia. Vincas remind me a lot on All The Saints, who are also from there. I wonder what happened to them. We also have a new blues band from Atlanta, Delta Moon. Ty Segall is very active. Besides his brand new record with White Fence, he also has a new record with his own band called Slaughterhouse. One of the most interesting reissues so far this year is The Red Bird Girls Very First Time in True Stereo which introduces some of the most interesting singles from Red Bird Records for the first time in stereo.

Levon Helm Today we have new songs for the Sub Pop band Beachwood Sparks who were a big surprise some ten years ago when they first appeared. They are back with the new music after almost a decade of silence. King Tuff aka Kyle Thomas has a new single out and we check it out today. Ty Segall joined forces with White Fence on their new album together called Hair. New name in today’s show is a Nashville group of musicians go by the moniker The Altered Statesman. In our segment Live In Cleveland we have Joe Grushecky. Today’s show is dedicated to Levon Helm, legendary drummer of The Band who died recently.
