Juliana Hatfield

Quite a few interesting releases today: Damned are back pretty much in classic line up with the new record. Ian Hunter is also back with first part of the new album. Juliana Hatfield has a new single (sharing sides with Emma Swift). Dynamic duo of brothers Lemon Twigs are back as well. Murlocs have a steady release of annual albums, and the new one just came out. Also from Australia and just as active, The On and Ons are back as well. Our recent favorite Gyasi has a new EP. Reverberations and Country Westerners are also some of the novelties we have today. Ohio is represented by Keith Harman and his project Good Looking Son.

Terry and LouieWe have a couple of interesting new albums today. Bonnie Prince Billy as a new record called Singer’s Grave a Sea of Tongues and it turns out to be a much more accessible version of his older album Wolfroy Goes to Town from three years ago. John Wesley Coleman III also has a new album which is a much more produced ordeal than his previous record (and I think that’s really a good direction for him). Chuck Prophet is back with Night Surfer LP which appears to be influenced by Ian Hunter’s songwriting style. Talking about Hunter, Mott The Hoople issued an excelled new double live record, recorded in 2013. Venerable bluesman Elvin Bishop also has a new record. In our segment Live in Cleveland, we introduce Cleveland band Shale Satans, who had an acoustic live set at our sponsor Blue Arrow Records. Terry Six and King Louie, two surviving members of the Exploding Hearts are back with the new single.

Joe SouthThree rocking returns today. ZZ Top open the show with a new heavy rocker from their new record La Futura. Dinosaur Jr also rock with a new song from the new record I Bet On Sky. And Ian Hunter is back with a playful new record When I’m President. On the power pop front, we introduce the new artist, a librarian from Portland, Maine, Kurt Baker. Juliana Hatfield is back with a new untitled record. And then we have two new live albums, one for Los Lobos and other for Joe Strummer. Actually, the latter is a combination of an anthology and a live record from his days with The Mescaleros.
