Today’s show is focused on the new singer and songwriter scene. We introduce Angie McMahon and J.P. Shilo from Melbourne, Ada Lea from Montreal. Also we have Tyler Beojian, Pat Hull and Pieta Brown are back with new stuff. Today we have a couple of new introductions. Starcrawler are from LA and Maggot Heart are from Sweden. Both are fronted by women and playing hard at it. Another harder band today is Bison Machine from Hamtramck MI, mixing hard and psychedelic rock. We also introduce Brat Cruise, but I wish I could say something more about them. Ride are back with the new record and so is the UK band Vukovar. We also pay a tribute to Ginger Baker, legendary drummer of Cream, who passed away recently at the age of 80.

The Venus Flytraps

Today we have new music from Olivia Jean (Nashville), who once used to be with The Black Belles. Over in Portland, we check out the new tune from The Lovesores. Cleveland band The Venus Flytraps is new to us, and we also feature them in our Live in Cleveland segment. Altin Gün come from Netherlands, but they play Turkish rock revival like they are from Ankara. Janiva Magness has a new album with John Fogerty songs. Automatic City reissued their album Bongoes & Tremoloes with one new track. Today’s show is dedicated to Larry Wallis (Motorhead, Pink Faries) and Barrie Masters (Eddie and the Hot Rods), both notable representatives of British rock’n’roll and pub rock, who passed away recently.
