Dirty garage rock selection today. Two hottest new releases is the collaboration between New York writer Mike Edison with the Spanish band Guadalupe Plata. Other hot release is quintet from LA, Richard Rose. We also have new music from all over the globe: Clamm from Melbourne, Robbing Banks from Utrecht in Netherlands, Japanese/UK combo The Routes, School Damage from Toronto and the London band Embrooks. Last block of today’s show are left for a tribute to Alabama musician Dan Sartain who passed away on March 19 at the age of 39.

Today’s show is oriented towards singer songwriters and somewhat traditional americana. Dan Sartain redefines cow punk on his new album called Western Hills. Then we go to Detroit where we check out the new music from The Codgers. Another new album from Detroit is from The Whiskey Charmers. We also go to the swamps of Louisiana and hear the new music from Sonny Landreth, Michael Doucet and introduce Lost Bayou Ramblers from New Orleans. Logan Ledger is a new name from California and Ashley McBryde has a solid new record over in Nashville. Finally, down in Canada, we hear the new album from our friend Clara Engel and introduce a band called Fiver.

Hal DavidThe Dirtbombs from Detroit joined forces with Dan Sartain and Terrible Twos for a new ep release and they cover another act from Detroit on that single – a cult band called Death. Quartet from Pittsburgh, PA Satin Gum are back with their second album, which they call LP2. Mark Eitzel and Rickie Lee Jones have new solo records out. And Crusaders of Love is a new name today, from Lille in France.

In the end, we’re paying respect to Hal David, a lyricists that used to work with Burt Bacharach. Our tribute is not obvious, as we play some versions of his songs that are not notorious, so that should be interesting.
