Today we experiment with sounds a little bit. Non-conventional genres and artists are on the playlist. We first start with a new project for John Dwyer, Nick Murray, Brad Caulkins, Tom Dolas and Greg Coates, which is perhaps called Witch Egg. Kid Congo and The Pink Monkey Birds follow with a 15 minute dance dreamlike song. Sun Kil Moon is also here with another lengthy new piece. Emma Ruth Rundle teams up with metal heads Thou. Marianne Dissard has an unconventional cover of Ritchie Valens’ Come on Let’s Go. Clara Engel has a new album, and it’s always a surprise and a new, interesting sonic exploration. At the end of the show we pay tributes to Sylvain Sylvain, Phil Spector and Tom Stevens from Long Ryders.

Today we start off with the new album by Nashville’s own Margo Price. Everybody is talking about it these days! Lynn Miles and Norma MacDonald are new introductions from Canada. Marianne Dissard from Tucson AZ covers a Steely Dan song and Josephine from New York City has a new single. We also introduce Weyes Blood and Natalie Laura Mering, clearly later than most other relevant rock shows, but their music fell through the cracks for me last year and I’ve just figured out how much her voice reminds me of the legendary Jadranka Stojaković.

Carla BozulichWe have a very quiet show today. Gavin Gardner from Toronto opens up with a Dylan tune. Then we go to New York and hear Lucius perform one of Bob’s songs from the 80s. We also check out a shoegazer band Creepoid from Philadelphia. Allysen Callery is a new name here at the Little Lighthouse. She mainly accompanies herself on guitar and has a very interesting voice, sounding a lot like Sandy Denny. We check out Marianne Dissard’s new record and we find her now back in France after being in Tucson for awhile. Carla Bozulich is back with the new record. And despite this being a very quiet episode of the Little Lighthouse, we close with the loudest record ever recorded – Stooges’ Raw Power. This our tribute to Scott Asheton, drummer of the Stooges who passed away last week.

Gavin Gardner – Tomorrow Is A Long Time;
Creepoid – Acrimony;
Lucius – When the Night Comes Falling from the Sky;
