Geoff EmerickToday we are saying goodbye to one of the greatest sound engineers in the world for rock’n’roll. Geoff Emerick passed away last week at the age of 72. We listen to some the music he recorded, but we also check out a good dose of new stuff. Alejandro Escovedo teamed up with Don Antonio Gramentieri from Sacri Cuori on a new album and Peter Perrett of The Only Ones is somewhere out there to help as well. Paul Collins of The Beat is back with the new record as well. Aaron Lee Tasjan, man from the heart of Ohio with a stellar biography of collaborations with Kevn Kinney and New York Dolls is also back with the new album. We introduce a retro band from California, The Sound Reasons, Luke Tuchscherer from UK via New York City, buddies of Paul Weller over in UK, Stone Foundation and the new singer songwriter Curtis Roush.

Enco LesićToday we spend some time listening to the records that came out earlier this year, only we somehow did not represent yet. There’s a new band from LA called Criminal Hygiene with the self titled effort and we check it out now, even though it has been sitting on the shelf for some time. English rocker Hipbone Slim and Mama Rosin collaborator also has a record from a few months ago called Go Hog Wild. We also have some brand new stuff – the new EP for Kevn Kinney’s Drivin’ N’ Cryin’ and a new track from Rain Parade’s Matt Piucci. In the end, we pay a tribute to the legendary singer from Memphis, Bobby Blue Bland. One the most interesting characters from the Yugoslav rock scene Enco Lesić also passed away, so we pay a tribute to him as well.

Kelly HoganUnfortunately, today we say goodbye to two great rock musicians who died recently. First of all, Tim Mooney who was in American Music Club passed away on June 15th. Then, most recently, Deep Purple keyboardist Jon Lord also passed away a month later, on July 16th. We remember them both today. Lil’ Band O’ Gold are also back with a new record after 12 years, this time dedicated to the good old Fats Domino. Redd Kross are back rocking their heads off with the new record called Researching The Blues. Luther Dickinson is quite busy recently. First he prepared a collection of live recordings that he and his brother recorded with his father Jim Dickinson shortly before his death. Also, there’s a new band for Luther himself, a supergroup The Wandering that consists of Shannon McNally, Amy LaVere, Valerie June and Sharde Thomas. Kevn Kinney is also busy. After his great solo record earlier this year, he also reformed his old band Drivin n’ Cryin’. Kelly Hogan, who we know from Jody Grind and as a backup singer for  is also back. She has a new record I Like To Keep Myself in Pain. And let us not forget Turf War – a new band from Atlanta, live in CLE!

Kevn KinneyKevn Kinney used to be in the band called Drivin ‘N’ Cryin, but now he has a solo careers quite in the past decade. His new album A Good Country Mile is a collaboration with Anton Fier. Terry Adams is not the only remaining original or classic line up member of NRBQ, but the record is still very nice and worth checking out. Legendary Bill Fox from Cleveland has a new record out called One Thought Revealed. We also have reissues for Reatards and Eddy Current Suppression Ring today. New band for today is Slow Animal from New Jersey. This show is dedicated to Etta James.
