Hollow Ship

We have a heavier, psych show today. We start with Slift from Toulouse France and Local H from Chicago. Then we go to Australia and hear the new music from the supergroup Datura4. Green/Blue is a new name for us, but I know very little about them. Their new album doesn’t even have a title. Hollow Ship are a psych band from Sweden. King Khan has put out some soundtrack music and Predrag Delibasic teamed up with Jurij Novoselic into a new project by the name of Alex Robokapov, although, Jurij used that last name during his stint in Disciplina Kicme. And, as the main feature today, Dream Syndicate have a new album out called The Universe Inside and we hear one of the longer songs on it, Apropos Nothing.

Disciplina Kicme – Buka u Modi;
Slift – Citadel on a Satellite;
Local H – Winter Western;
Monstrous – Humble Headbanger;

The Best of 2019 Pt 3; Flashlite #570

2019pt3

Part three of our list of best albums in 2019! Today we review some albums which did not make it to our top 30, which may probably just be the lack of my own attention. But before that, I’ve noticed that a whole bunch of good albums were shorter than 30 minutes this year, which is an interesting phenomenon. Albums were too long when we switched formats from LP to CD, but with less than 30 minutes, they seem to be a little too short. Back in the day, those would be classified as Mini LPs. Flashlite #411 – The Best Albums in 2016 (Part One)

Best of 2015We start today with the countdown to my list of favorite albums in 2016. Today we cover positions 35-14. It doesn’t mean that these any worse than the ones we will put in top 13, it’s just a matter of personal taste. Some of the old friends returned (Ray Mason, Descendents, Westerberg, Jonathan Richman, Javier Escovedo and Apache) and there are a few records from what used to be Yugoslavia (Bernays Propaganda, Thee Melomen, Erotic Biljan). Plus a healthy dose of new bands. It all makes a good playlist! Come back in 7 days to find out what’s in top 13!
