Today we introduce the new singles from Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever and The Forty Nineteens. Julian Cope has a new album too. The Third Mind is a new supergroup with Dave Alvin of Blasters, Michael Jerome of Toadies and Victor Krummenacher and David Immerglück of Camper Van Beethoven. They have a new album of new covers of some classic psychedelic tunes. Similar concept, but with less known participants has been released in Chicago by Plastic Crimewave Syndicate. We also introduce a new artist for us, a singer songwriter from France, Theo Charaf. Today we also have two tributes, one to David Roback, legendary leader of Mazzy Star, Opal, Rainy Day and The Rain Parade who passed away recently. Another tribute is to Zoran Modli, legendary Yugoslav radio DJ who vigorously promoted unsigned bands throughout the 80s.

Emma DeCorsey of I Am The Polish ArmyToday we have a brand new track from The Flesh Eaters, who reformed in their most notorious line up, featuring Chris D, Steve Berlin, DJ Bonebrake, John Doe, Bill Bateman and Dave Alvin. And it’s a cover of a lesser known Sonics tune! We also have the new tune from Emma DeCorsey of I Am The Polish Army from her new cassette Dream. Clara Engel from Toronto in Canada also has a new album A Shore Far From Any Prison. Clara will be playing live in Cleveland on December 7th at Euclid Tavern and on December 8th at The Whiskey Bar. Emma will be playing at Blue Arrow Records on November 10th at 3pm. Both of them are coming to Cleveland through a booking production of The Little Lighthouse. So that’s something new I’m doing and it would be appreciated if you all come and support the effort. Talking about Blue Arrow Records, new Jonathan Richman record is coming out today on that label and it’s called Sa. It features Jerry Harrison on keyboards, among others. We also introduce Maiorano from Berlin Germany, Michael Head from Liverpool, England and an older record that came on Ill In The Head Records by a Croatian band Gipps. On Numero, there is also a nice reissue compilation entitled Basement Beehive: The Girl Group Underground. We check it all out today.

Nick Knox Today we introduce the new power pop band Hawk, which features David Hawkins along with Ken Stringfellow and Gary Louris from Posies. Nick Lowe is back with an new EP and also Wilko Johnson, legendary Dr. Feelgood guitarist is back with the new record. We check out the new music from La Luz over in Seattle and we catch up with the recent music from Dot Dash, from Washington DC. Dave Alvin and Jimmie Dale Gilmore are in our live in Cleveland segment. We pay tributes to two drummers Knick Knox from the Cramps and D.J. Fontana, from Elvis’ band. Both of them passed away recently.

Nina RomićNew music took us strange places this time. I recently came across a band from Barcelona, Spain, by the name of Belgrado, with a Polish singer that takes up the visual identity of Yugoslavian Zenitism movement and sounds like they are from Rijeka, cca 1983. Then, we also check out a Welsh band that named themselves after my old hometown, Vukovar. Back in that old part of the world, we also get new music from Nina Romić and Punčke. The rest of the show also brings the new albums from Calexico, as well as a new collaboration between Dave Alvin and Jimmie Dale Gilmore. We also introduce some new names for us. Big Eyes lead by Kate Eldridge come from New York City and the singer-songwriter Shawna Russel hails from Oklahoma.

Joe Ely is also back and doing very well on the country top 40 albums charts with his new record Panhandle Rambler. Amy LavereToday we represent the brand new album by the phenomenal Memphis bass player Amy Lavere. She also participated in an interesting project called the 78 Project which is set around recording modern musicians by cutting directly onto a 78RPM acetate the way it was done back before the magnetic tapes were invented. The project was started by Lavinia Jones Wright and Alex Steyermark as a nod to the great American blues archivist Alan Lomax. We also check out the new tune recorded by Frank Black and the Catholics, inspired by the great SST band called Angst. Alvin brothers Dave and Phil, the founding members of the Blasters, are back together with a new album called Common Ground and it’s all about the Big Bill Broonzy old songs. Finally, we represent a piano and drum duet from Chicago, The Claudettes.
