It’s a jammy show today. We have entirely improvized band called Soldiers of Fortune, consisting of many established musicians from New York (Oneida, Chavez, Interpol). Jesper Eklow from Endless Boogie seems to play a very important role forming the sound on the new Soldiers of Fortune record Early Risers. Next, we have the legendary (ex) Yugoslav band Disciplin A Kitchme, who are back with yet another great sounding record entitled Opet.. Ethan Johns is also back with the new album and we introduce a new name: Greek band 7-Odds. Dom Mariani’s DM3 has a nice new compilation record.

Today’s show brings us some new names. The Sons of Bido Lito come from Sunderland in England, but they are named after a small old and now defunct club in Hollywood called Bido Lito. Big Quiet come from New York City and Shambles come from San Diego. Shambles share some of the members with True Stories, which we heard last week. Ethan Johns is back with a live album and Lucero have a new studio record.
The central piece today is our large block in which we compare the music of famous rockers and their children. We paired up Ethan and Glyn Johns, Ambrose Kenny and Broderick Smith, Lilly and John Hiat and Trixie and Chris Whitley. We also listen to the Cynics live in Cleveland, new music for Jimbo Mathus and we have one new name – Diemonds from Toronto in Canada.
