Today we start off with a track from the latest King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard album. Then we hear a new single from Ruby Boots, who collaborated with Indianola. And we hear it in live and studio version. Margaret Dollrod is back with her new band Heartthrob Chassis. In Belgrade, we check out the new music from Å ajzerbiterlemon. Also from Belgrade, we check out music from the surf trio cleverly named Threesome. Fever Feel from Canada have a new single (it’s a band that we just introduced recently. Over in Sweden, we check out The Janitors. It’s an older song, but it’s a good band that fell through the cracks for me. But the most exciting thing by far is the return album from one of my favorite 80s bands Danny And The Doorknobs. It’s a very surprising return to a band that existed shortly under that name, and is way better known as Trotsky Icepick. Their old album Poison Summer is one of the hidden 80s jewels and their new album might be even better than that. Definitely the most pleasant surprise this year and possibly the greatest return album since Mission of Burma’s ONoffON.

Every year around this time we look back. This year is again. We begin the new 2019 with a retrospective of best albums in last year. Next week I will present the lest top 12 albums last year. This week we focus on positions 25-12.
Oh! Episode 500 from Cleveland? That’s a lot when you think about it… But, let’s not worry too much about big round numbers and keep on keeping on. We have a new band from Chris Eckman of The Walkabouts, which he formed with Croatian musicians. It’s called The Strange. Jim Lauderdale is back with two new records. One is solo, and the other one is with buddy Roland White. The rest of the stuff today are all new names for us: The Coke Dares from Bloominton IN, Dark Thoughts from Philly, The Black Delta Movement over in Hull, UK and Chris Richards with his Subtractions over in Detroit. We also have Message, a band I know nothing about, but hopefully I find some info in the near future. Ruby Boots is in our Live in Cleveland segment.
Just as we introduced the new John Paul Keith’s new single, his new album with The Motel Mirrors also came out. It also features Amy LaVere and Will Sexton in the line up. The rest of the new music today are all new introductions. First we have two new bands form Los Angeles: Dommengang and L.A. Witch. Clevelander and a hopeful in the comedy business Dave Hill teamed up with Chris Reifert from Autopsy and Death in a new band called Painted Doll. We also have Bad Moves. They come from Washington DC. Australian Rebecca Louise Chilcott goes by the name of Ruby Boots and another singer songwriter, Sue Foley comes from Canada. They both have new interesting albums. Rench is a guy from Brooklyn who mixes country with hip hop beats in his band Gangstagrass, but this time we check out his new solo record.
