At the very beginning of the show, we pay a small tribute to Robert Dahlqvist, a guitarist from Hellacopters who suddenly died in February this year.
Today’s show starts with two new loud bands, Control Freaks from San Francisco and Golden Pelicans from Orlando, FLA. We continue with the new singer from Nashville, Chely Wright with a mighty cover of a Bob Dylan song Tomorrow Is A Long Time. Also from Nashville, we chack out the new song from Last Daze, fronted by Katy Cole. From Canada, we check out Suzanne Elizabeth Ungerleider who goes under the moniker Oh Susanna. Vaguess from California are also back with the new album Guilt Ring and we finish off with Vasko Atanasoski from Macedonia and a track from his upcoming album.

The we introduce the guitar player from Minneapolis Ben Glaros who landed his skills to the Pirner brothers Dave and Paul on a Slim Dunlap tribute band The Happy Roosters and Fathom Lane with Michael Ferrier. My friend Stanjin Strbac has a new column and he writes about Rhiannon Giddens and Son Volt. Inspired by his writings, we check out these two in today’s show. Pretty much all new bands in the show today. We introduce Ancient Shapes from Canada, Big Hogg from Glashow, Scotland, Selwyn Birchwood from Florida and Telestons from Greece. Eyelids are kind of a supergroup from Portland with members from Guided By Voices, Decembrists and some other less known bands. Famed E-Streeter who is keeping garage rock alive in his radio show, Little Steven is back with a solo record and Chuck Berry songs which were recorded in the past decade are finally coming out posthumously.
Today we start with The Meatbodies, a band that involves Chad Ubovich, a long time collaborator of Ty Segall. Then we introduce Sabbath Assembly, self described occult band that travels between Texas and New York City. White Reaper come from Louisville KY and Ghoultown come from Texas, both bands quite rough and heavy. Automatic City from France bring us their playful brand of boogie woogie and so do modern legends Endless Boogie who are back with a new record. We also have two new albums by two wonderful ladies. Juliana Hatfield is here with Pussycat and Mary Bragg debuts at the show with an original approach to songwriting. The Obsessed has a new record called Sacred and we also check how they sounded in Cleveland a few weeks ago. Redd Kross also visited us here in town, after 20 years.

San Mikulec from Zagreb, Croatia who we know most notably from Sloming Moops has a new project called Van Klokan Band. Aaron Lee Tasjan from Drivin N Cryin has a cool solo album. We also introduce singer songwriters Sera Cahoone and Sarah Shook. New bands today are Platinum Boys from Milwaukee and Chinese Herbal Medicine from LA.
We bring you new music from some good old groups that we used to like in the 80s: Thurston Moore and Paul Roessler and Howe Gelb with his one man project Arizona Amp And The Alternator. We also introduce new bands from Melbourne, Australia – Brad Pot, Philadelphia PA – The Improbables, Nashville TN – Blackfoot Gypsies. I am especially excited about the newly discovered recordings from Gun Club, which are not assembled into their posthumous album entitled In My Room. Old Crow Medicine Show (and Little Lighthouse!) celebrate the 50th anniversary of Bob Dylan’s masterpiece Blonde on Blonde. So many good albums have their 50th anniversary this year! 1967 was insane.
Today we start off by checking out the new music for two legends: first Robyn Hitchcock and a song from his untitled new record and a new single from Mark Lanegan and his band. Also, two of the Kinks brothers are here with new records. Ray Davies joined forces with The Jayhawks and Dave Davies has a record with his son Ross. We introduce The Wooden Sky from Toronto in Canada and two new bands from Cleveland. First four ladies in Goldmines, among which Roseanna Safos and Mandy Look also joined forces with Jason Look in another Cleveland band Part-Time Lover. We also hear a tune from Part-Time Lover performed live at The Blue Arrow Records on the Record Store Day. Speaking of the Record Store Day, an interesting seven inch showed up with Mike Watt collaborating with three bands from The Balkans. Today we check out what Koja and Disciplin A Kitchme did to a Minutemen song!
We start the show with the new rhythm and blues band from Memphis, Southern Avenue. They we check out the new tune for Janiva Magness. We also check out the music from Rickie Lee Jones and Madeleine Peyroux, who are collaboration on a new tour together. The New Pornographers have a new record and so does the singer of The Ettes, Coco Hames. Guided By Voices recorded a new, lengthy double album too. But a special treat today is a block in which we check out separate projects of each new member of Ty Segall’s band. Charles Mootheart has a new CFM album and so does Emmet Kelly with his Cairo Gang. We introduce the pianist Ben Boye and his band Joshua Abrams And Natural Information Society, who also have a new album out.
