Today we have a brand new track from The Flesh Eaters, who reformed in their most notorious line up, featuring Chris D, Steve Berlin, DJ Bonebrake, John Doe, Bill Bateman and Dave Alvin. And it’s a cover of a lesser known Sonics tune! We also have the new tune from Emma DeCorsey of I Am The Polish Army from her new cassette Dream. Clara Engel from Toronto in Canada also has a new album A Shore Far From Any Prison. Clara will be playing live in Cleveland on December 7th at Euclid Tavern and on December 8th at The Whiskey Bar. Emma will be playing at Blue Arrow Records on November 10th at 3pm. Both of them are coming to Cleveland through a booking production of The Little Lighthouse. So that’s something new I’m doing and it would be appreciated if you all come and support the effort. Talking about Blue Arrow Records, new Jonathan Richman record is coming out today on that label and it’s called Sa. It features Jerry Harrison on keyboards, among others. We also introduce Maiorano from Berlin Germany, Michael Head from Liverpool, England and an older record that came on Ill In The Head Records by a Croatian band Gipps. On Numero, there is also a nice reissue compilation entitled Basement Beehive: The Girl Group Underground. We check it all out today.

Billy F Gibbons from ZZ Top has a new solo record and so does Richard Thompson, the legendary guitarist of Fairport Convention. We also introduce some new names today: Dumb Punts from Melbourne Australia, Brandy from New York City and Ike Reilly from Chicago. Colleen Green is interesting, she released several cassette tapes in the past few years over in Los Angeles. As a loving tribute to John Wicks who passed away on October 7th, we play two songs by The Records. War on Women are live in Cleveland.
Today we are saying goodbye to one of the greatest sound engineers in the world for rock’n’roll. Geoff Emerick passed away last week at the age of 72. We listen to some the music he recorded, but we also check out a good dose of new stuff. Alejandro Escovedo teamed up with Don Antonio Gramentieri from Sacri Cuori on a new album and Peter Perrett of The Only Ones is somewhere out there to help as well. Paul Collins of The Beat is back with the new record as well. Aaron Lee Tasjan, man from the heart of Ohio with a stellar biography of collaborations with Kevn Kinney and New York Dolls is also back with the new album. We introduce a retro band from California, The Sound Reasons, Luke Tuchscherer from UK via New York City, buddies of Paul Weller over in UK, Stone Foundation and the new singer songwriter Curtis Roush.
Raul Rudolph of the Pink Fairies still pushes on with the band, so we check out their new album. Instrumentalist from Memphis TN, Impala, are also back with a new album in almost 20 years. We introduce Thee Dagger Debs from UK, Echotest from Italy, Big Bite from Seattle and Velveteen Rabbit from New York City on Hozac Records. We pay a tribute to Johnny Strike, legendary frontman of Crime, who passed away on September 9th this year.
Donnie Fritts recorded a new tribute to the late and great singer songwriter Arthur Alexander, and we sample in in this episode. Our pals, Plastic Pals from Sweden are also back with the new single. Walter Lure who used to be one of Johnny Thunders’ Heartbreakers is back with his band The Waldos. The biggest news for this week is that Trotsky Icepick has a new single. Actually, the tune is already a bit old, but it popped up for me only recently. The Lemon Twigs now have their new album out. Chris Butler and Ralph Carney recorded an album about odd holidays, shortly prior to Carney’s death. We also check out the new one from the Austin’s White Denim, Lena Loveland from Berlin and Codgers from Detroit. James and The Ultrasounds come from Memphis TN. And we also do a little tribute to Aretha Franklin.
Tonight we check out the new music from Mark Lanegan, who teamed up again with Duke Garwood. We also check out the new song from J Mascis, with another solo effort. Another legend from around that time, Chris Mars, the drummer of The Replacements has a new album, so we check that out as well. ESC Life used to be a touring band for Grant Hart and now they have a new single. Ty Segall, Charles Mootheart and Chris Shaw from Ex Cult are back with their GØGGS. Oh! Episode 500 from Cleveland? That’s a lot when you think about it… But, let’s not worry too much about big round numbers and keep on keeping on. We have a new band from Chris Eckman of The Walkabouts, which he formed with Croatian musicians. It’s called The Strange. Jim Lauderdale is back with two new records. One is solo, and the other one is with buddy Roland White. The rest of the stuff today are all new names for us: The Coke Dares from Bloominton IN, Dark Thoughts from Philly, The Black Delta Movement over in Hull, UK and Chris Richards with his Subtractions over in Detroit.
