Igor DjekeIn today’s episode, we have some news from my ol’ hometurf. We found out some info about the new harmonica player in Disciplin A Kitchme. His name is Igor, he lives in Vinkovci and has his own one man band called Harp Explosion. Check out his new spectacular album on bandcamp. Further down south, in Rijeka, we have My Buddy Moose. After their great album called Shine Shine, the new one is announced with the new single My People. We check out some new names today: The Gotobens from Pittsburgh and Joy from San Diego. Plus new music from King Tuff and Sid Griffin, who used to be with The Long Ryders. And Nikki Sudden’s tapes from the late nineties surfaced as a new album called Fred Beethoven. Sounds really great!

The Ugly BeatsWe have some hot reissues this time from the Numero Group. As a continuation of their Nikki Sudden reissues, we also now have the first Jacobites reissues, the first lp and Robespierre’s Velvet Basement. Another hot reissue on the same label is Texan hard rock band Josefus with their 1970 loud masterpiece Dead Man. We also have some interesting new records. Brian Olive, who used to be with The Greenhornes and Soledad Brothers, now has a new EP called Move. We introduce The Ugly Beats from Austin TX and Rat Columns for the first time at The Little Lighthouse. Rock’n’roll megastars J Mascis and Ty Segall have new records each and Mark Lanegan had put out the new EP as an advance for the upcoming new record in the Fall this year.

Ruined FortuneA ton of new tunes from Australia. We have Ruined Fortune, a duo from Sydney and Eastlink from Melbourne. King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard have a new record called Oddments, plus we were lucky to host them in Cleveland. We also check out some good old rustbelt bands. Cheap Girls come from Lansing MI and The Safes are from Chicago. Peter Holsapple wrote a neat tribute to his old band Continental Drifters for The Radio Free Song Club and recorded it with overdubs from Susan Cowsill and Russ Broussard. We also check out the new Secretly Canadian reissues of Nikki Sudden albums.
