Leyla McCallaLeyla McCalla over in New Orleans is back with the new album entitled Capitalist Blues. John Wesley Coleman III, from the neighboring state of Texas also has a new solo record. Part Time Lover in my home-base of Cleveland has a new single for Blue Arrow Records (our sponsor). On the other side of the world, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard come with the new single. Over in whatever is left from Yugoslavia, we have two new exciting tunes. Snooze in Motion with their new single (or I should say his new single, it’s just one guy, San Mikulec from Zagreb). Koala Voice come from Kisovec in Slovenia and we have them here for the first time. We also have two tributes. Blue Cheer drummer Paul Whaley passed away in late January and Korni Grupa bass player, Bojan Hreljac passed away in December.

Best of 2017We begin the first weekly review of the new music and events in the rock world. Tim Lee and Susan Bauer are back, this time under a new band name Bark. Galileo 7 from the Medway area amd Pugwash from Ireland are back with their own brand of refined power pop. Part Time Lover from Cleveland have a new single, and we check out the B-side. We also introduce Bed Wettin’ Bad Boys from Sydney, Australia. We also pay tributes to Fast Eddie Clarke, the last remaining member of Motörhead classic line up. Ray Thomas of The Moody Blues also passed away this month. Oh, and by the way, it’s been 17 years since this little show started out.

Kelli Halliburton from The Pierced Arrows is also there. Jake Xerxes Fussell hails from Columbus, GA and he covered an awesome Jimmy Lee Williams song in a manner similar to Ed Crawford tribute to Elizabeth Cotten long time ago on a fIREHOSE record. Paul Kelly is back with the newest record and we also introduce Rahill Jamalifard and her band Roya. Jason Look of Part Time Lover is live in CLE with a Gene Clark song.

Part-Time LoverToday we start off by checking out the new music for two legends: first Robyn Hitchcock and a song from his untitled new record and a new single from Mark Lanegan and his band. Also, two of the Kinks brothers are here with new records. Ray Davies joined forces with The Jayhawks and Dave Davies has a record with his son Ross. We introduce The Wooden Sky from Toronto in Canada and two new bands from Cleveland. First four ladies in Goldmines, among which Roseanna Safos and Mandy Look also joined forces with Jason Look in another Cleveland band Part-Time Lover. We also hear a tune from Part-Time Lover performed live at The Blue Arrow Records on the Record Store Day. Speaking of the Record Store Day, an interesting seven inch showed up with Mike Watt collaborating with three bands from The Balkans. Today we check out what Koja and Disciplin A Kitchme did to a Minutemen song!
