UK singer Elisa Zoot teamed up with Calibro 35 on a new single. We also have to obituaries. Seid 1st Karajlić, keyboardist of Zabranjeno PuÅ¡enje passed away on November 9th and Pete Shelley, the legendary leader of Buzzcocks passed away last week. San Mikulec from Zagreb, Croatia who we know most notably from Sloming Moops has a new project called Van Klokan Band. Aaron Lee Tasjan from Drivin N Cryin has a cool solo album. We also introduce singer songwriters Sera Cahoone and Sarah Shook. New bands today are Platinum Boys from Milwaukee and Chinese Herbal Medicine from LA.
Today we start off with the brand new song from a really cool new record for Bash & Pop. Then we check out another cool song from a band that puts records much more frequently, Electric Six. 1-800-Band is a quartet that comes from Brooklyn – they hired legendary Mitch Easter to help them out with the new album entitled High Beams. We also introduce Rob Clarke and The Wooltones are from Liverpool, England and Kill West from Argentina. King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard announced a new album that experiments with microtonal scales. Greg Stackhouse Prevost of The Chesterfield Kings is back with the new solo record. And we finish things off with the new album for Sloming Moops that just came out, entitled Dance Drool
Ok, so 2017 is ready to start! We are going to be listening to some new music that arrived during the winter break in which we explored what happened in 2016. We have the new record from the Two Cow Garage of Columbus. We introduce Babaganouj from Australia who are on that wonderful Smudge tribute. Chelle Rose is back with the new record recorded over in Austin TX with Ray Wylie Hubbard. Deniz Tek from Radio Birdman is also back with the new album. We also introduce the new band by Danny from Low Cut Connie – Swampmeat, new music from San Mikulec and his Sloming Moops and hard rockers The Skull.
We bring you some cool new stuff. Daughter of Howe Gelb and Paula Jean Brown (of the original Giant Sand line up), has a great band called Patsy’s Rats. Impulsive Hearts from Chicago are also fronted by a lady: Danielle Sines. Miriam Linna of Norton Records has made another new album this year Down Today. We also introduce Green Hornet from Netherlands and Sloming Moops from Zagreb, Croatia. Also from there, Thee Melomen have a new single. Peter Buck of REM is back with a nice solo record. An interesting tribute came out recently in Tucson AZ for Rainer Ptacek.
