This show starts with Paint Fumes from Charlotte, NC. Then we check out the new album by Ty Segall, done to support the American Civil Liberties Union. His friend over in California, Kelley Stoltz is also back with the new record. King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard must be the busiest band in the world, along with Ty Segall. They already published their third album this year, and it’s a collaboration with another Australian band called Mild High Club. King Washington is a new trio from LA and Edgar Jones comes to us from UK. Andy Gabbard has a new record called Plenum Castle. Last week we heard David Nance with is take on the Beatles, and this week we hear his own epic tune called Ambulance.

Today we have one new band with all female members. The Beverleys – three ladies from Toronto. Jenny Don’t ails from Portland and fronts her punk rock band Don’t. We also introduce the new band for Chris Shaw from Ex Cult, Ty Segall and Charles Moothart from Fuzz called Goggs. The man that made my favorite record last year, Andy Gabbard visited Cleveland and played some new tunes. My field recorder was ready. We also introduce Cowboys from Bloomington IN and a Toronto supergroup Highest Orders. One of the most pleasant surprises this week is Leland Sundries from New York and their new record called Music For Outcasts. Senior Service is an instrumental band from UK. Prkos Drumski covers Fairport Convention by the camp fire and we check it out.
Andy and Zach Gabbard are in a hard rocking, jammy band from Cincinnati called Buffalo Killers. As a band, Buffalo Killers delivered a string of five notable albums and both brothers wrote the songs. This year, Andy decided to try something on his own.
Today we continue our traditional review of the best records at the Little Lighthouse in the past year. The top 10 is here. We have double number one position, so two albums share the title of the best records this year. I thought about a lot which one to pick and decided to split the title between Andy Gabbard’s Fluff and Faux Killas Gravy. Gabbard’s Fluff is a well rounded, carefully thought-out record (although you may think the opposite from the title) and Faux Killas are a young new force from Memphis that blasted their debut as if they have rock’n’roll in their fingertips. The rest of the list follows bellow and then, check out the playlist for the top 10 if you have time. Oh, yeah… happy new year to everyone!!!
Today we have some cool new singles by well known bands: legendary Godfathers and King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard. We introduced Zig Zags earlier this year and now they’re back with an EP. Mark Lanegan released an old set of demos dating back to 2002, which really sound exceptionally good. We introduce two new solo artists: Andy Gabbard from Columbus (also in Buffalo Killers) and Bill Lloyd from Nashville. From Macedonia comes Fonija, a punk trio with young folks belting out some impressive tunes.
