Our good friends from Australia City of Cool are back with brand new record, but for the firs time, they perform under their given names, David Craven & Jon S Williams and the band name seems to be retired. Big Hogg from Glasgow have a new trippy single as well. Kikagaku Moyo is a five piece from Japan and we feature them for the firs time. Tommy and The Ohs is a project for Thomas Oliverio and Pretty Lightning is the new band from Germany.

Today we have an interesting show, full of new experimental tunes mostly inspired by the new Levitation festival releases by Dead Meadow and Osees. Following that block we check out the new music from City of Cool and Mythic Sunship who may as well have been on Levitation line up. Warm Drag has a new single and we also check out new releases from Hedvig Mollestad Trio and Writhing Squares. We also introduce a young guitar player from Austing TX, Ally Venable who has a very interesting new tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan. Although she could have titled it as a tribute to Jimi Hendrix and it would still work well, if not better given the experimental feel of the piece.

Team Dresch

Remember when a couple of weeks ago we announced Danny and The Doorknobs phenomenal comeback album? That band is perhaps much better known in the rock’n’roll history books as Trotsky Icepick. Only two months after the return with Juebox in LA River, Trotsky Icepick is back with an album with the moniker they are much better known for and we check it out in today’s show. Another astonishing comeback is the new single for the queercore royalties Team Dresch. Much like Trotsky Icepick, City of Cool from Australia also have a new album in a very short term. King Khan also has a new album out. Connections, a band from Columbus who had an album of the year in 2016 also had a recent new album called Foreign Affairs and we check that out today. Mark Lanegan is about to put out his new record, but as we wait for it, we hear his new tune with the guitarist of Lamb of God, Mark Morton. Cleveland Steamers have a new politically charged single and Snooze in Motion, over in Zagreb have a new fake live album called Red Wednesday.

Redd Kross are back with the new single. In Australia, we bring you Monnone Alone for the first time and City of Cool return with a new album too. Over in Italy, Sara Ardizzoni, better known as Dagger Moth released a new cover of Grant Hart’s song Morning Star. Peter Perrett from The Only Ones is back with the new record. Not only do we play the newest single by David Nance, we also play one of his live in Cleveland tracks. Over in the old Yugolands, Igor Djeke of Disciplin A Kitchme has a new tune as Harp Explosion and legendary punk album by Ex-Cess is reissued on Ill In The Head Records.

Nikki Hill, out in Durham, NC is back with the new album called Feline Roots. Jon S. Williams of City of Cool sent us one of his recent live sets. Dave Hill who we enjoyed last year as a part of Painted Doll duet is back with yet another interesting band Valley Lodge. Detroit garage rock revivalists from the late 90s, The Go have a new live album. Webb Wilder, guitarist and actor from North Mississippi is back with the new album Mississippi Moderne. Our good Australian friend Jon S. Williams who we know from City of Cool is back with an excellent batch of new recordings and we check out his cover of Trevor Lucas’ Poor Ned.
