Robert PollardRobert Pollard is as active as ever. We introduced his new band Ricked Wicky just recently, and now he also has a new solo record. We also introduce Home Blitz from Princeton NJ, which reminds me on Game Theory. Faux Ferocious come from Nashville and we check out their studio and live recordings from their show in Cleveland. Thee Oh Sees are back with the new LP called Mutilator Defeated At Last. Rodney Crowell and Emmylou Harris have a new album together. They first worked together 40 round years ago, so it’s a nice anniversary. Fauntleroys is a supergroup consisting of Alejandro Escovedo, Ivan Julian (ex Voidods) and Linda Pitmon (ex Zsu Zsu’s Petals and Miracle 3). We finish with a tribute to Bobby Irwin, drummer in Nick Lowe’s band who passed away recently.

Useless EatersWe start off today with a tribute to Husker Du. Two Canadian bands, Red Arms and Wasted Potential put their resources together and made a coll tribute to Husker Du. The whole thing is on their bandcamp account, available for a free download. Another free download that you might want to consider is by The Babies – a really cool band from Zagreb who had a wonderful vinyl LP 10 years ago and now, the band offers it officially in a digital format. The Babies are long time defunct, but some of their members how play as Thee Melomen. They also have a cool cover of Husker Du! We also have new tunes by Built Do Spill from Boise ID and Warm Soda from Austin TX. We also have a nice block from Danny Kroha (ex Gories), with music from his new album and recent performances live in Cleveland. We also check out Mink Deville live CD and the new album from Becca Stevens Band. At the end of the show, we pay tribute to Ben E King (ex Drifters) and Jack Ely (ex Kingsmen).

Amy Lavere has an album with Will Sexton where she goes back to her previous songs looking for a more intimate atmosphere. Boz Scaggs is back also with a really cool new record which mixes various musical genres into an entertaining blend. Mikal Cronin has returned with his 3rd solo record. We also introduce Ethan Daniel Davidson from Detroit with a recording that he made together with Danny Kroha. And finally, we sadly report that Percy Sledge has passed away.

The Barr BrothersToday we have new music from Australia. King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard has a new single and we have a new band from Perth called Zerodent. Their new demos are just in fresh from over there. Today we also have two performers from Canada as well: Ron Sexsmith and The Barr Brothers. Check out the new music from My Buddy Moose from Rijeka, Croatia. I was wondering what’s happening to Mike Therieau. I really liked his album Living From A Suitcase eight years ago. I’ve found him playing with a new band called Shurman over in Austin. Finally we say goodbye to Rock Vodka, also known as David Thum, the original drummer of Tex And The Horseheads who passed away recently.

Wax IdolsSeveral new names today for the first time at the Little Lighthouse. We have two bands that successfully mix lighter notes with electric guitars: Hushdrops from Chicago and Dick Diver from Melbourne, Australia. Life Sized Maps come from Brooklyn and play music heavy on synthesizers. We also have Wax Idols for the first time at the Little Lighthouse, with an older song that appeared on Suicide Squeeze Records sampler. Willie Nile is back with a piano oriented record and Jon Spencer also has a new record. We say goodbye to John Renbourn of Pentangle, who passed away recently.

Ian McLaganDecember 2 and December 3 of 2014 were two devastating days for rock’n’roll. We lost two true greats, Bobby Keys and Ian McLagan. McLagan started in Small Faces, continued with Faces had some amazing solo records, toured with his Bump Band. Bobby Keys played saxophone and greatly contributed to the golden period of The Rolling Stones – their Sticky Fingers and Exile of Main Street. Ian and Bobby crossed paths several times, on Faces, Ian’s solo records and the most recently actually in Cleveland – for the Rolling Stones tribute organized by the rock hall. This show is dedicated to the two of them. Their sounds are part of the very fabric of rock’n’roll. Thanks comrades!

Jack BruceToday we say goodbye to one of the greatest musicians in rock’n’roll, the bass player of Cream, Jack Bruce who passed away on October 25th this year. We briefly review his career through his songs with Cream, solo and Golden Palominos. In our Blues Alphabet segment we hear the original version of I’m So Glad, popularized by Jack Bruce, but written by Skip James. Rory Block, the greatest female blues guitarist who’s been around since the sixties, made a new tribute to Skip James.We also check out the new music by Dan Stuart hecho en Mexico with Twin Tones. We also have some new, promising bands today: Manateees from Memphis and Soft Shoulders from Montreal. We tie things up today with The Klitz, more legend than a band, four ladies from Memphis, organized and recorded by Jim Dickinson in the late seventies, which is now finally out on a 7″. Also, check out Eddie and The Hot Rods in our live in Cleveland segment, they really sounded great.

Then we go to Italy, where our friends Cheap Wine have a new record, tenth in seventeen years! Jesse Winchester who passed away earlier this year, recorded an LP worth of stuff which has just come out and we check it out. Singer songwriter Kim Simpson returns with music set to the DuÅ¡ko Trifunović lyrics. And Maggie Björklund who we know well from her collaborations with Howe Gelb and John Doe has a record on her own. Also, Mike Watt and his Italian sailors visited my town, and we have it on a tape. Il Sogno Del Marinaio! The most famous musician out of Boise ID, Paul Revere passed away and we pay a small tribute to his legacy.
